The Haute Maurienne region is part of the project «A Mountain for All», a step towards the national «Tourism and Handicap » label.
In summer
The Vanoise National Park provides many opportunities for hiking in a dramatic landscape. Thanks to the Plan du Lac initiative, this pristine area can also be explored by individuals with reduced mobility:
- a stone path leading from the refuge to the information panels
- a paved road allows for cars to transport individuals with reduced mobility
- Signs written in braille
- 2 all-terrain wheelchairs
- 2 all-path units (a wheel that can be fitted onto wheelchairs to help them maneuver) making it easier to drive on the paths
Winter
Adapted ski equipment: a PULKA sled (traditionally used in polar expeditions) is made available.
«Ski with your handicap» is an inventory of the ski areas that can host persons with disabilities.
The ski lift offers a special price on ski passes for disabled persons with free access for their escort.
Free to use with a security deposit.
